Patriots stomp Bengals, 38-24
The New England Patriots got off to a hot start and never looked back in a 38-24 thumping of the Cincinnati Bengals.
Quarterback Tom Brady, who seems on a mission this year, threw for 258 yards and three touchdowns.
Wide receiver Wes Welker, who is coming off of ACL surgery, had two touchdown catches in his first game back from the injury.
The defense also played well despite the score, as most of the points were put up by the Bengals well after the game was already decided.
Maybe the Bengals just didn’t come ready to play, but the Patriots looked awfully good in the season opener.
